The Holmatro USA installation is in collaboration with Maryland Industrial Partnership (MIPs) with the University of Maryland (UMD), the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA), the Regional Manufacturing Institute (RMI) and XChanger Companies, Inc. (XCo).
The engineering firm manufactures very intricate aluminum parts for the Department of Defense, NASA and other large defense contractors. They are required to maintain temperatures between 68-74 degrees to manage expansion and contraction issues and stay within manufacturing tolerances. This company had been unable to keep up with the cooling requirements last summer and the thermostat was reaching temperatures in the upper 70s. Therefore the facilities manager decided to install two additional 20 ton RTUs to make up for the discrepancy. XChanger received a call from the engineer asking if we had an alternative solution.
